About
I went to summer camp for the first time when I was 8 years old. Along with my sleeping bag, cowboy boots and extra pairs of socks, my mom packed a point and shoot camera and one roll of film. I have specific memories of knowing I only had so many shots to take and carefully composed the images I wanted to make – aha – the start of a life long fascination with photography! Even though I shoot digitally now, I still think about each shot before I hit the shutter release.
I have always had a creative streak – as a kid I loved stickers and creating Lego cities. As I grew older and was allowed more than one roll of film at a time, I got into scrapbooking. When my first niece was born, I learned cross stitch so I could make her a blanket. Four years later when her sister arrived, I’d learned to knit. From 8th grade on, I have had a love of theatre and everything that goes into the behind the scenes aspect of creating a theatrical production. I’m so thrilled to be able to continue this love as a volunteer with Youth Theatre Northwest by helping them to archive their productions and provide images for their informational brochures.
I envision this blog as a place to showcase some of my creative images and let you get to know me through my photography.
Enjoy!
